Managing Director

Role Overview

Dexintec is seeking a Managing Director to lead its Nairobi-based operations in the CBD division. The role reports to management and is responsible for steering the company’s day-to-day direction, compliance, and stakeholder engagement while supporting business growth and organizational stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage working relationships with government agencies and regulators, ensuring the business remains fully aligned with all relevant laws, rules, and industry requirements.
• Coordinate with local teams and support staff operations, while sharing regular progress reports and strategic updates with headquarters.
• Represent the organization at conferences, industry forums, stakeholder meetings, and other official events to enhance visibility and partnerships.
• Direct administrative activities and put in place strong systems, workflows, and controls that improve efficiency and keep operations running smoothly.
• Promote a healthy workplace that attracts, supports, and retains employees, and encourage ethical conduct, professionalism, and responsible corporate behavior.
• Assign duties and oversee executives and team leaders, offering direction, coaching, and encouragement to improve performance and output.
• Assess operational issues, risk areas, and difficult situations, then implement practical solutions that support long-term sustainability and growth.

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, or law is required. A master’s degree is considered an added advantage. The ideal candidate should bring at least 5 years of experience in business, with experience in an internet or fintech company preferred.

Knowledge and Competencies

The role calls for a strong understanding of business principles, frameworks, market development, and regulatory trends, along with practical business negotiation skills for dealing with governments, regulators, and institutions. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, interpersonal skills, and clear communication are also essential.
