Job description
Role overview
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a marketing executive to build and scale the brand, communications, and go-to-market strategy for an emerging dual-use technology company operating across defense, intelligence, and advanced sensing. Based in Ireland and designed as a remote-first position, the role combines strategic direction with hands-on delivery. You will help define how the business is perceived internationally, strengthen its presence in both defense and civilian markets, and create a distinctive brand in a demanding, highly specialized sector.
The position is being promoted for a partner organization, which will manage applications and the next stages of the process. The role offers significant ownership, room for creativity, and the chance to help shape a category-defining defense brand from an early stage.
Key accountabilities
- Create and run a global marketing and brand plan that supports strong market positioning across defense and civilian audiences.
- Build clear positioning and narrative frameworks that align with long-term growth ambitions and differentiated market strategy.
- Own public relations and media outreach, developing trusted relationships with journalists, analysts, and sector influencers to earn meaningful coverage.
- Plan and deliver multi-channel campaigns across digital, social, and industry-specific platforms to increase visibility and demand.
- Direct content strategy for company-owned and founder-led channels, ensuring output remains consistent, polished, and effective.
- Organize participation in international defense and aerospace trade shows, including logistics, supplier coordination, and booth or brand presentation.
- Handle marketing budgets, outside agencies, and contractors, then measure performance and refine spend for better results.
Candidate profile
- Substantial background in senior marketing leadership with responsibility for both planning and full execution.
- Demonstrated success in producing high-visibility or viral campaigns that generated strong reach and engagement.
- Practical experience in PR, social media, advertising, and event marketing within fast-moving, high-growth settings.
- Comfort leading external partners, agencies, and cross-functional stakeholders with initiative and independent judgment.
- Strong communication and storytelling ability, especially when turning technical or industrial ideas into compelling messages.
- Previous exposure to defense, aerospace, dual-use, or similarly regulated and technical environments is advantageous.
- Experience in startups or rapidly scaling companies where speed, flexibility, and decisive execution are essential.
What is offered
- Potential equity or company share participation as part of the early leadership team.
- Fully remote working arrangement with flexibility across Europe, plus optional hybrid working if preferred.
- Flexible hours with an emphasis on outcomes rather than fixed schedules.
- High autonomy to shape and build a marketing function from the ground up.
- The chance to contribute to a mission-led organization with tangible impact in defense and intelligence technology.
- Exposure to international markets, senior stakeholders, and major global defense industry events.
- Direct influence on the growth trajectory and market perception of an emerging technology leader.
Application and data handling
Applications are reviewed and advanced by the partner company rather than the listing platform. A matching process is used to shortlist candidates against the role’s core requirements before those profiles are passed to the hiring team. Interviewing, assessments, and final decisions are handled internally by the employer.
By submitting an application, candidates should expect personal data to be processed for recruitment evaluation and shared with the hiring employer under applicable data protection rules, including GDPR where relevant. Applicants may also be assessed with the help of AI tools during parts of the recruitment process, although final hiring decisions remain with people. Rights related to personal data, such as access, correction, deletion, and objection, remain available under applicable law.
