Job description
Role Overview
The Merchandising Supervisor is tasked with managing merchandising activities across the assigned stores, making sure products are displayed correctly, available on shelves, and aligned with company rules. The position plays a key part in supporting sales growth, leading merchandisers, and building productive relationships with customers and service providers.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, train, and encourage a team of merchandisers.
- Create route and visit plans, then review and adjust them as needed.
- Keep a close watch on attendance, output, and performance indicators.
- Visit stores regularly and provide practical coaching while in the field.
In-Store Merchandising
- Make sure products are placed correctly according to planograms.
- Maintain shelf stock, accurate pricing, and stock rotation based on FIFO principles.
- Track inventory levels and work with sales and logistics teams to ensure replenishment.
- Follow merchandising standards and brand presentation guidelines at all times.
Sales Tracking and Execution Support
- Review sales performance and merchandising KPIs such as shelf share and out-of-stock levels.
- Spot opportunities to improve visibility and boost sales.
- Assist with promotions, product displays, and new launch execution.
Retail Partner Management
- Develop strong working relationships with store managers and retail stakeholders.
- Negotiate for display locations and promotional visibility.
- Handle and resolve merchandising and stock-related issues in stores.
Reporting and Administrative Work
- Compile daily, weekly, and monthly updates on merchandising activity.
- Use sales and merchandising tools, including handheld devices, for reporting.
- Share market observations and competitor insights with the sales team and management.
- Submit execution photos as part of reporting.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in FMCG merchandising, ideally within frozen food.
- Hands-on experience with Saudi retail chains such as Panda, Danube, and Carrefour is required, along with exposure to discounters and other major retailers.
