MIS Analyst

Role Overview

The organization is hiring an MIS Analyst to support reporting, business intelligence, and analytics activities in Abu Dhabi. This position is focused on turning business needs into reliable dashboards, KPI reporting, and actionable insights.

Job code: JPC - 5987. Arabic-speaking candidates are preferred. The role calls for 2 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree.

Business Intelligence and Reporting

• Convert business requirements into measurable KPIs, reporting structures, and specifications.
• Develop, enhance, and support Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards that align with organizational goals.
• Create and manage semantic models and datasets, including Power BI datasets and star schema structures, to support scalable reporting.
• Set up automated scheduled reports where suitable, ensuring outputs remain consistent, accessible, and easy to use.

Data Preparation and Modeling

• Pull data from approved sources such as databases, Excel files, and line-of-business platforms, then cleanse, transform, and validate it using Power Query (M) and other approved tools.
• Build and refine DAX calculations and measures to produce accurate analytical results.
• Maintain standard metric definitions as a single source of truth and support consistent master data where needed.

Data Quality, Governance, and Documentation

• Carry out regular data quality checks and verify report outputs against source systems.
• Record dataset details, KPI definitions, report logic, refresh timing, and data lineage to ensure traceability and continuity.
• Enforce proper data access controls and comply with internal confidentiality and information security requirements.

Performance and Continuous Improvement

• Track and improve dashboard efficiency, including model size, refresh duration, visual performance, and DAX optimization.
• Spot opportunities to simplify recurring reporting and reduce manual effort.

Stakeholder Support and Enablement

• Serve as the main contact for assigned reporting areas and help users interpret dashboards effectively.
• Run basic enablement sessions on topics such as dashboard navigation, filters, drill-through features, and export options.
• Coordinate with IT teams, data owners, and vendors to support data access, source stability, and dependable refreshes.

Business Analysis

• Work with business stakeholders to understand goals, issues, and reporting expectations.
• Facilitate workshops and interviews to capture and clarify requirements, KPI definitions, and data sources.
• Translate business needs into functional reporting requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and related documentation.
• Organize, coordinate, and moderate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users.
• Support UAT execution by resolving misunderstandings and confirming that acceptance criteria are satisfied.

Change Management and Adoption

• Assist rollout activities by creating user guidance, such as quick reference notes, and running short walkthroughs for stakeholders.
• Collect post-release feedback and help prioritize improvements with the reporting manager.

Additional Duties

• Carry out any other MIS or BI-related responsibilities assigned in line with business priorities.

• Set yearly performance objectives with the reporting manager and work consistently toward meeting them.
• Keep technical skills current and stay informed about BI best practices and new analytics capabilities.
• Show ownership, precision, and professionalism in all deliverables and interactions.

Role Requirements

Experience of 2 years is required. A bachelor’s degree is needed for this position. Arabic speaking is preferred.
