Role Overview

As Night Manager, you will oversee the hotel’s overnight operation and make sure service runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently throughout the night. This role combines guest service, front office activity, team leadership, and responsibility for night-time safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the hotel operates effectively during night hours while maintaining a high standard of guest service.
  • Handle guest relations and support a positive experience for visitors staying overnight.
  • Take responsibility for night-time health and safety, including fire walks, security inspections, and any related duties such as first aid.
  • Carry out front office tasks, including preparing and reviewing the night audit report and managing guest check-ins and check-outs.
  • Supervise Night Porters and coordinate their tasks across the shift.
  • Oversee food and beverage service provided during the night.
  • Guide the team toward achieving targets linked to mystery audits, customer feedback scores, quality assessments, and hotel standards.
  • Coach and develop the night team so they are prepared for future career growth.
  • Support the wider strategic running of the hotel.

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a comparable night-duty or reception position.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations and hospitality standards.
  • Prior experience working in hospitality is necessary.
  • Comfortable using computers; experience with Opera is required.
  • Experience with the Brilliant electronic front office system is expected.
  • Strong leadership and team development abilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to assign and monitor work effectively.
  • A welcoming, approachable manner when dealing with colleagues and guests.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
