Operations Manager / Broiler Poultry Farm

Job Summary

The Operations Manager will take charge of the broiler poultry farm’s everyday functioning, with responsibility for bird welfare, output, disease prevention, and overall commercial performance. The position covers supervision of staff, production routines, feed and treatment programs, equipment upkeep, and adherence to animal welfare and food safety requirements.

Farm Operations & Production

• Oversee and organize the farm’s daily broiler production workflow.
• Track flock health, weight gain, feed conversion ratio (FCR), and bird losses.
• Make sure brooding, feeding, watering, lighting, and ventilation are managed correctly.
• Put standard operating procedures in place and ensure they are followed.

Animal Health & Biosecurity

• Apply and enforce strong biosecurity controls and disease-prevention practices.
• Work with veterinarians to plan and carry out vaccination, medication, and health-related programs.
• Detect disease incidents or production setbacks quickly and take action without delay.
• Keep detailed records of bird health and mortality.

Staff Management

• Lead, train, and roster farm workers and supervisors.
• Ensure the team follows farm procedures, safety rules, and animal welfare expectations.
• Review employee performance and help build team capabilities.
• Maintain a work environment that is both safe and productive.

Feed, Inventory & Equipment Management

• Handle feed ordering, storage, and consumption in a way that reduces waste.
• Monitor stock levels for chicks, feed, medicines, and farm consumables.
• Ensure farm machinery, tools, and facilities are operating properly and maintained well.
• Arrange repairs and upgrades whenever required.

Quality Control & Compliance

• Maintain compliance with animal welfare rules, food safety standards, and internal company policies.
• Keep production and compliance documentation ready for audits and inspections.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts to raise efficiency and product quality.

Financial & Performance Reporting

• Watch operating costs and contribute to budget preparation.
• Prepare recurring reports on operations and performance.
• Study production figures to identify opportunities to improve productivity and profitability.

Qualifications & Skills

A bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Agriculture, or a closely related discipline is preferred. The role calls for more than 5 years of experience in broiler poultry farm operations or livestock management, along with proven ability to supervise teams and manage farm operations.

Technical Skills
