Role Overview
The Litigation Paralegal will partner closely with attorneys on active matters, help prepare cases for trial when needed, handle research and fact-gathering tasks, and keep case files organized and up to date.
Key Duties
- Handle administrative support tasks such as typing, clerical work, and data entry.
- Keep the attorney’s schedule organized and current.
- Arrange depositions, pre-deposition meetings, conferences, hearings, and mediation sessions.
- Manage legal documents using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe tools.
- File legal documents electronically through Florida’s E-Portal system.
- Support attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and other meetings.
- Prepare legal paperwork including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and subpoenas.
- Send communications to parties and non-parties by email, standard mail, or certified mail.
- Coordinate with clients and maintain effective communication.
- Set up Court Call or Zoom access for hearings.
- Take on other related assignments as needed.
Experience and Job Requirements
This is a full-time position with working hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of litigation experience. Trial experience is a plus, and prior e-filing experience in both state and federal courts is preferred. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office is required, along with the ability to manage a demanding workload in a fast-moving environment. The role also calls for clear communication with clients and colleagues, strong organizational ability, multitasking skills, sound prioritization, and a collaborative mindset.
