Job description
Program Overview
This internship is a 12-week paid opportunity for students to build practical experience in the oil and gas sector while contributing to major industry projects. The program also includes learning and training designed to strengthen professional capability within a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive workplace.

Role Summary
This opportunity is aimed at university students interested in petroleum engineering and related fields such as mechanical, chemical, process, or other adjacent engineering disciplines. The internship offers exposure to integrated subsurface work and the chance to understand how petroleum engineering supports reservoir performance, well integrity, and field operations.
As an intern, you will support the review of reservoir and well performance, assist field operations personnel with monitoring and improving well performance and integrity, and learn about gas production well operations. You will also gain experience using well-condition monitoring and reservoir surveillance information to understand how technical data influences both short-term and long-term business decisions.
The placement will be based in Chevron’s new building at One The Esplanade in Perth, Australia.
Eligibility and Requirements
- You must have the legal right to live and work in Australia on a permanent basis.
- You should be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate degree, or be enrolled in postgraduate study.
- You need to be available for full-time work from Monday to Friday for the full placement period, from 23 November 2026 to 19 February 2027, with the week of 22 December off.
- You should bring strong communication ability, good analytical thinking, and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
