Job description

About the Organisation

NeuroMoves is a nationally recognised allied health service run by Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA), a not-for-profit focused on reducing barriers for people living with spinal cord injuries and other neurological conditions. Since 2007, the service has developed a reputation for delivering intensive, client-focused therapy in well-appointed locations.

The team combines the feel of a close, collaborative clinic with the backing of a nationwide network of more than 70 allied health professionals. Services are delivered from modern, technology-enabled facilities, with strong links to universities, active research involvement, and support from an experienced clinical governance committee and management team.

The organisation is values-led and outcome-focused, with an emphasis on improving independence, wellbeing, and quality of life for clients. NeuroMoves is part of the Royal Rehab Group, a leading provider of disability and rehabilitation services.

Role Overview

This part-time position is based at the Adelaide clinics in Angle Park and Hove. It is a 12-month fixed-term contract beginning in June 2026, offering 15 to 20 hours per week. Saturdays are required on a rotating roster.

You will work independently to deliver specialised exercise and therapy programs, manage clinical projects, and help ensure service targets are achieved. The role includes handling more complex or less routine clinical situations and supporting the growth of the team by mentoring and guiding less experienced colleagues.

Clients may include people living with spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological or disability-related conditions.

Key Duties

  • Manage a neurological caseload while maintaining a balanced mix of clients that supports your professional development.
  • Provide physiotherapy across a range of settings, including open-gym clinics, homes, community locations, telehealth, and hydrotherapy.
  • Use evidence-based methods to establish goals, monitor outcomes, and support measurable client progress.
  • Advocate for participants when dealing with NDIS, LSA, and equipment suppliers.
  • Take part in professional learning through mentoring, internal training, webinars, and external development funding.
  • Contribute to project work and multidisciplinary collaboration to strengthen non-clinical capability.

What You’ll Bring

You should be a compassionate Physiotherapist who is committed to high-quality client care and motivated by helping people achieve meaningful outcomes. Curiosity, teamwork, and a willingness to keep learning are important in this role.

You will be well suited to the position if you value person-centred practice, enjoy working collaboratively, and want to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation that promotes inclusion and empowerment.

  • A strong commitment to inclusive practice so every participant feels respected and supported.
  • Regular access to a private vehicle for community-based sessions.
  • A valid driver licence, required for hydrotherapy and home visits.
  • Availability to work Saturdays as part of a rotating roster.
  • Confidence with manual handling tasks such as transfers, loading, and positioning, with training and support provided.
  • A values-aligned approach and enthusiasm for contributing to a mission-led national team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Current Physiotherapy registration with AHPRA.
  • A driver’s licence and full access to a vehicle.
  • Current CPR and First Aid accreditation.
  • Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Experience or knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

NDIS client experience is preferred but not mandatory, as on-the-job training and continued learning support are available. A willingness to learn, broaden your knowledge in a developing environment, and work effectively in a multidisciplinary, diverse team is essential.

Reward and Benefits

  • Salary packaging of up to $15,900 of pre-tax income to increase take-home pay.
  • Meal and accommodation packaging of up to $2,650 for dining and holiday expenses.
  • Access to Maxxia Rewards with a wide range of discounts.
  • Genuine career growth and development opportunities.
  • Flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance.
  • Competitive remuneration matched to experience.
  • Employee Assistance Program with confidential counselling and coaching for you and your immediate family.
  • Supportive and experienced leadership.
  • A friendly, close-knit team culture.
  • Clinically driven KPIs focused on sustainable quality-care outcomes rather than billable hours.
  • Purpose-led work supporting people living with spinal cord injury.
  • Generous professional development support, including a PD budget, internal CPD, and conference opportunities.
  • Access to advanced neurorehabilitation technology and innovative therapy tools.
  • Opportunities to participate in active research projects.

Additional Information

The organisation is committed to diversity and inclusion, and encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTIQA+ individuals, people with disability, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

If you need adjustments to take part in the recruitment process or to support you in the workplace if successful, you are encouraged to let the employer know. The workplace is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive environment.

Applicants will need to address the essential criteria in a cover letter and may be asked to complete pre-employment checks, which can include a criminal record check, Working with Children Check, employment history checks, and referee checks. Vaccination against infectious diseases is strongly encouraged.

The role is ideally suited to someone with more than 2 years of experience, although candidates with less experience are still welcome to apply. Remuneration will be aligned with experience.

Regular access to a private vehicle is required for community-based work, and Saturdays are part of the roster.
