Role overview
BAM UK & Ireland is hiring a Planner to join its building division in County Kildare, Ireland. This role focuses on supporting delivery of construction projects through structured planning, programme control, progress tracking, and reporting. Key responsibilities
- Create and maintain project schedules using planning tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or Asta.
- Track project progress and keep reporting up to date.
- Work closely with site leaders, design professionals, and contractors to align project timelines.
- Keep the contract programme current and accurate.
- Monitor subcontractor progress against agreed milestones.
- Develop and track key performance indicators for the project.
- Take off quantities from drawings to support progress reporting.
- Support the incorporation of programme data into BIM models for 4D planning.
- Provide strategic input that supports safeguarding, growth, and development.
- Contribute flexibly as part of a team and take on varied work as needed.

Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will have a relevant degree or diploma in engineering, or an equivalent qualification, along with at least 2 years of planning experience. Experience in a building construction environment is important, and main contractor experience is preferred. You should understand construction sequencing, methodologies, and lead times, and be comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.
Additional requirements
You will need to be technically strong and confident working with drawings, specifications, BOQs, critical path programming, and network analysis. The role also calls for the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively within a fully integrated team. Strong attention to detail, organisational ability, a proactive mindset, a problem-solving approach, a full driving licence, eligibility to work in Ireland, and fluent English are all required.
