Job description
About the role
Verizon is hiring a Procurement Graduate to join its Global Procurement team in an early-career position. The role is designed to build a strong base in worldwide supply chain operations, data analysis, and corporate financial controls while contributing to day-to-day procurement work.
This opportunity is suited to a motivated graduate who is organized, detail-focused, and interested in improving processes through automation and better ways of working. You will work with international stakeholders, support transaction processing, and help keep procurement operations accurate and efficient.
What you will do
- Handle daily transaction activity, coordinate with overseas stakeholders, and support improvements to procurement workflows.
- Check Ariba purchase requisitions, raise S4 purchase orders, confirm payment terms, and make sure all supporting documents are in order.
- Work toward fast turnaround targets, including a 24-hour target for PR/PO approvals and clearing pending PRs within 5 working days.
- Serve as a contact point for procurement questions through the shared mailbox and Slack channels.
- Track and resolve procurement match errors and goods receipt/invoice receipt issues so supplier payments are accurate and timely.
- Prepare, refresh, and review weekly and twice-weekly reports to maintain up-to-date procurement records.
- Follow internal procedures carefully to support full compliance with annual SOX controls and internal audit requirements.
- Help reduce manual work by 25% by creating App Scripts, building Slack workflows, and standardizing email templates.
What we are looking for
Verizon is looking for a recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, business information systems, or a closely related area. Prior internship exposure in a business-related setting, or a relevant project portfolio, is preferred.
The ideal candidate pays close attention to detail, can manage a high volume of purchase and finance-related tasks, and is comfortable learning enterprise tools such as SAP S/4HANA and Ariba. Familiarity with Google Workspace or Microsoft Excel is also important.
Preferred strengths
It will be an advantage if you have experience with project management tools, have worked in global procurement, or have built reports for different audiences and functions. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, communication skills, and an interest in data analytics, process improvement, or basic automation will also be valuable.
