Role overview

LiuGong Machinery is hiring a Product Manager in Accra, Greater Accra Region, Ghana. The role focuses on product strategy, market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and cross-functional execution for heavy equipment products.

Key responsibilities

  • Study LiuGong products against competitor offerings and site conditions to identify technical and commercial advantages.
  • Prepare persuasive sales materials such as speeches, videos, presentations, visuals, and total cost of ownership data built around product strengths.
  • Recommend product enhancements and development ideas based on market and competitor comparisons, and coordinate strategic follow-up with headquarters.
  • Create customer success stories, product pitch content, and standard terminology for product introduction and sales communication.
  • Design integrated product solutions for major industrial customers after assessing their operating environments and needs.
  • Complete technical fields and specifications required for bidding documents.
  • Lead product and business planning efforts across cross-functional teams.
  • Review customer demand, market movements, and partnership opportunities from an ROI and build-versus-buy perspective.
  • Evaluate competing products and identify opportunities to stand out in the market.
  • Assess product requirements and shape programs that ensure those requirements are achieved.
  • Plan and manage production schedules across several departments.
  • Review new product concepts and define the right go-to-market approach.
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle, including research, positioning, roadmap planning, requirements definition, competitor analysis, and launch execution.
  • Convert product strategy into detailed specifications for engineering prototypes and final development.
  • Draft product strategy documents covering business cases, use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI.
  • Use market data to shape sales strategy and product objectives for marketing communications.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, marketing, and sales teams to support development, quality assurance, launch, and balanced resource allocation.
  • Define product positioning and messaging that clearly distinguishes LiuGong across key market segments.

Requirements

  • Proven background in a fast-moving product management environment.
  • Successful track record in managing every stage of the product development lifecycle.
  • Strong capability in leading and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in business, product design, or engineering.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in mining equipment or heavy equipment.
  • Excellent writing and editing ability, along with strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Strategic thinking supported by strong analytical and conceptual abilities.
  • Ability to build business relationships with integrity and trust.
