Production Shift Supervisor

About the Role

Guardian Glass is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor for its Float Glass Facility in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. This role is pivotal in developing a high-performing team and advancing the company's vision and culture by recognizing and aligning individual team member skillsets to create personal fulfillment and company value. The Production Supervisor will oversee and coordinate production efforts to achieve sustained improvements in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), compliance, reliability, quality, production, and costs. This is a challenging opportunity within a dynamic manufacturing environment, operating on a rotating shift pattern.

Our Team

You will join a collaborative team of department managers, supervisors, and process engineers who strategize daily priorities. The Production Supervisors foster a 'one team on the field' mentality, focusing on direct reports and the broader workforce. This unified team encourages constructive challenges, open communication, and expects leadership support and feedback. You will be part of the Float Line Team, working closely with Operations and Engineering, dedicated to maintaining high production efficiency and quality standards in a collaborative and innovative setting.

What You Will Do

• Lead an operational team of 8-10 employees safely and efficiently, taking ownership of vision advancement, safety, quality, and productivity.
• Promote safety excellence by encouraging employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify and eliminate hazards. Deliver effective safety training to crew members.
• Facilitate team development, communication, skill enhancement, problem-solving, and resolution. Build employee commitment and ownership while ensuring accountability.
• Monitor product quality and guide crew members to optimize efficiency.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and direction to employees as needed.
• Assist in troubleshooting production-related issues.
• Complete data entry and generate reports accurately and promptly.
• Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports and manage the individual performance development cycle.
• Understand the cost implications of decisions and their impact on various departments and processes.
• Achieve or surpass Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals by successfully measuring and improving processes.
• Collaborate with other departments and managers to ensure effective teamwork.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline.
• Have prior experience working in an operations environment.
• Exhibit technical and mechanical aptitude to learn manufacturing processes, demonstrating logical thinking and a process-oriented approach.
• Proven experience in adapting to change and driving transformation in people, processes, and the company to maximize value.
• Skilled in effectively communicating verbal and written messages, information, and ideas to diverse groups, fostering shared understanding.
