Role Overview
Assets Group is seeking an experienced Project Controls Director to take charge of project controls across a portfolio of major developments. The role focuses on ensuring disciplined planning, scheduling, budget oversight, risk control, reporting, and performance tracking from project start through completion.
The successful candidate will bring deep experience in steering project controls for highly complex, multi-billion-dollar programs and will help deliver projects through strong governance and performance management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the project controls function across several projects and business streams.
- Create, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and governance structures for project controls.
- Manage planning, scheduling, cost control, progress tracking, risk oversight, and reporting activities.
- Track project performance against approved baselines and advise on corrective measures when needed.
- Prepare executive dashboards, KPIs, and performance updates for senior leadership.
- Align planning, cost, commercial, procurement, and construction teams for smooth execution.
- Oversee forecasting, budget tracking, and change control processes.
- Spot risks and opportunities and contribute to mitigation plans.
- Advise senior management on delivery status and project performance.
- Develop, coach, and retain strong project controls teams.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a closely related discipline.
- A master's degree will be considered an added advantage.
- Professional credentials such as PMP, PSP, AACE, or an equivalent certification are preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in project controls, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position.
- Background in mega projects, mixed-use developments, hospitality, infrastructure, real estate, or large construction programs.
- Strong command of planning, scheduling, cost management, earned value management (EVM), risk management, and project reporting.
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6, Power BI, and project controls platforms.
- Experience leading project controls teams across multiple projects.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
