Role Summary

In this role, you will support project administration, coordination, reporting, and close-out activities while working closely with project managers, superintendents, customers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams. The position also involves contributing to scheduling, accounting coordination, quality control, safety tracking, and documentation management.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with owners, partners, consultants, subcontractors, and the public.
  • Review and interpret project contracts.
  • Track scope changes and forecast change orders.
  • Represent the company professionally both inside and outside the organization.
  • Use the project management system for administrative support.
  • Revise project schedules as directed by the project manager and superintendent.
  • Prepare contracts and purchase orders as instructed by the project manager.
  • Provide updates on milestones and schedule adjustments.
  • Coordinate technical, scheduling, engineering design, and testing-related activities.
  • Support safety programs and monitor safety statistics as needed.
  • Work with the accounting team to keep project accounting accurate and timely.
  • Assist the project manager with monthly progress application processing.
  • Communicate with customers to share project updates and confirm their needs are being met.
  • Prepare status and progress reports for customers, project teams, and management.
  • Handle project close-out tasks, including document archiving, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies, warranty items, and collection of as-built drawings from sub-trades.
  • Review design work for alignment with engineering principles, company standards, contract obligations, and applicable specifications.
  • Take part in basic layout and field engineering work, including as-built information collection.
  • Provide backup support for estimating and project management as needed.
  • Create and maintain punch lists of remaining work items.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities.
  • Participate in quality assurance efforts by following and applying policies and procedures.
  • Draft and review purchase specifications and subcontract documents.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary studies in engineering or construction management, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or in a similar position, preferably within project engineering or heavy construction; co-op experience will also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of construction-related software such as Primavera, AutoCAD, and SAP.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel to project locations and work a flexible schedule.
  • Mobility is essential for this role.
