Project Manager (Remote-Canada)

Role overview

Octave is hiring a Project Manager to steer major software implementation programs for its Public Safety business. The role centers on end-to-end project delivery, customer relationship management, and maintaining accurate references and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact representing Octave with customer partners.
• Drive projects so they are completed on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client quality standards.
• Create and manage project plans covering scope, budget, deliverables, timelines, and team accountabilities.
• Coordinate team efforts while giving clear direction, support, leadership, and guidance across a diverse group.
• Track work in progress and review finished outputs to confirm accuracy, expected results, and quality.
• Keep communication flowing promptly and accurately between project contributors, leadership, and customers.
• Lead issue resolution and manage escalations when challenges arise.
• Take part in scoping work, including creating or validating LOEs and SOWs.
• Prepare internal updates and client-facing status and financial reports.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent documented experience in a comparable role.
• PMI PMP certification, or an equivalent credential, is mandatory.
• At least 5 years of project management experience delivering large software implementations.
• Background in complex technical projects and programs, ideally within Public Safety.
• Strong written, verbal, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project.
• Highly organized, self-driven, and attentive to detail.
• Professional, proactive, and committed to owning all aspects of the project management function.
• Open-minded approach with appreciation for diverse perspectives and a collaborative PMO culture.
