Role overview

McCain Foods is looking for a Quality Assessor to join the Timaru production team on a permanent full-time basis. The position covers all quality testing activities within the Fryplant area, from incoming raw potatoes through to finished product checks.

What the role involves

The successful candidate will help ensure that quality standards are maintained across the process and packing area during every shift. The work includes accurate record keeping, compliance with food safety requirements, and oversight of quality systems connected to production activities.

What you will bring

You should place a strong emphasis on health and safety, work well as part of a team, and communicate effectively with people across different departments and job levels. The role also calls for solid organisational ability, logical thinking, and a proven approach to solving problems and delivering results.

Experience with manufacturing processes, safety, quality systems such as HACCP and GMP, warehouse management systems, and environmental management systems is expected. You should also be comfortable reading, creating, and updating documentation used in these systems.

This position follows a rotating 12-hour shift pattern: two day shifts from 6.45am to 7pm, two night shifts from 6.45pm to 7am, followed by four days off.
