About the Role

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Radiographers to join a friendly multidisciplinary team at St Mary's Hospital, a Major Trauma Centre in central London. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, utilizing and developing skills across general imaging, including A&E, and gaining experience in CT and Angiography. The department is committed to education and training, teaching radiography students from various London universities. As part of an Academic Health Science Centre, the Trust focuses on delivering world-class healthcare through excellence in research, education, and training across its five hospitals and in collaboration with Imperial College London.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure the highest standards of patient care, comfort, and focus at all times.
  • Perform duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain professional conduct, punctuality, and appropriate attire during duty hours.
  • Independently manage and organize workload within specific clinical areas, such as Fluoroscopy, with support from senior staff when needed.
  • Review and validate request forms for accuracy and suitability.
  • Assess the need for repeat X-rays or additional projections.
  • Administer IV injections in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Report any incidents or equipment malfunctions to the area superintendent radiographer.
  • Work autonomously as required, utilizing initiative while recognizing personal limitations and seeking guidance when necessary.
  • Adapt work practices to meet service demands.
  • Undertake any other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the post.
  • Actively participate in the out-of-hours service and fulfill rostered duties as part of contractual hours.
  • Complete all mandatory training, including Manual Handling, Infection Control, and Trust Core Skills, as per Trust and Department policies.
  • Engage in continuous professional development in line with College of Radiographers and Health Professions Council guidelines.
