Job description

Role overview

Maynooth University’s School of Business houses the International Research on Energy Systems Integration, Education & Environment for Sustainability and Innovation Center (IRESI). The centre supports research aimed at advancing sustainable energy systems and contributing to a cleaner, greener, more sustainable future for individuals, organisations, and institutions.

The university is recruiting a Youth Committee Member to assist with the Research Ireland-funded RENEW project. This is a part-time appointment at 0.4 FTE, and some stakeholder meetings and outreach activities may be scheduled outside normal working hours.

The role suits someone with a genuine interest in youth participation, inclusive approaches, and environmental solutions. The successful candidate will help make sure young people’s views are reflected in the project’s activities and outcomes.

What the role involves

The postholder will support the project through youth-focused engagement and occasional contribution to community-facing activities. They will help shape ideas collaboratively so that the project responds to the priorities and concerns of young people.

This position offers practical experience in collaborative research, public engagement, and inclusive innovation, while contributing to work with environmental and social value.

Pay and appointment details

Salary is set at Research Assistant Level I (2026), ranging from €33,792 to €34,621 per annum, paid pro rata for 0.4 FTE. The appointment will follow public sector pay provisions.
