Job description
Position Overview
This full-time on-site Resident Manager role is based in Greenville, Mississippi and is an entry-level position. The schedule is centered on weekends and holidays. The role focuses on supporting the treatment program in a smooth, organized, and effective manner while maintaining a safe and respectful environment for residents and others involved with the program.
Core Responsibilities
The Resident Manager is expected to help coordinate the treatment program efficiently and to remain attentive throughout the shift. This includes answering calls politely, keeping detailed logs, completing regular headcounts, monitoring medication self-administration as directed, and documenting any incidents, activities, or concerns that arise during the shift.
The role also includes enforcing house rules in a professional way, carrying out fire and evacuation drills when asked by the program director, safeguarding the well-being of clients, and reporting serious concerns, elopements, or behavior issues to the program director or counselor when they fall outside the Resident Manager’s authority.
In addition, the position requires respectful interaction with residents, families, staff, volunteers, visitors, public agencies, and the public. The employee must follow all applicable Department of Mental Health and Division of Medicaid standards, protect confidentiality, avoid gossip, take part in required training, and carry out any other duties assigned by a supervisor, manager, or coordinator.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid Mississippi driver’s license. The job also calls for leadership ability, strong organization, good interpersonal skills, and a cooperative attitude toward working with other team members.
The role may involve exposure to infectious waste, illnesses and health conditions such as tuberculosis, AIDS, and hepatitis, as well as interaction with individuals or family members who may be emotionally distressed or hostile.
Work Conditions
This position is designated for weekend and holiday coverage. The candidate must remain awake and alert at all times during duty hours.
