- Build consolidated master schedules for projects involving multiple disciplines.
- Spot critical paths, near-critical activities, and schedule-related risks.
Progress monitoring and control
- Track actual project progress against approved plans and flag delays, deviations, and risk areas.
- Gather progress inputs from site supervision teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Carry out scenario testing, delay impact reviews, and completion forecasts.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress charts, S-curves, histograms, and performance dashboards.
Reporting
- Develop weekly and monthly schedule updates with KPI tracking, performance commentary, and executive-level summaries.
- Explain delays, constraints, and schedule changes to project managers and clients.
- Issue early alerts and suggest corrective actions to reduce or recover slippage.
Coordination and communication
- Liaise with site engineers, discipline leads, contractors, and consultants to collect accurate activity information.
- Take part in progress reviews, technical discussions, and coordination meetings.
- Communicate schedule requirements, updates, and critical matters clearly to all concerned parties.
Claims and delay analysis
- Assist with extension of time assessments, delay analysis submissions, and forensic planning exercises.
- Verify that contractor delay claims are backed by proper records and sound scheduling logic.
- Review the effect of variations, rework, and design changes on the programme.
Compliance and quality assurance
- Make sure all schedules follow company procedures, contract terms, and client expectations.
- Keep schedule coding, WBS hierarchy, and report formats consistent.
- Support internal audits and quality checks related to planning and controls.
Required qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or another relevant engineering discipline, along with at least 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling within construction supervision. Strong hands-on knowledge of Primavera P6 is mandatory, and proficiency in MS Office is also expected. The background should include work on infrastructure, buildings, industrial, or similar large-scale projects.
Additional requirements
Candidates should have a solid grasp of project management fundamentals, construction methods, and activity sequencing. Experience in extension-of-time claims and delay analysis techniques such as Time Impact Analysis is required. The role also calls for strong analytical ability, clear communication, and solid reporting skills.
Preferred profile
Experience in Saudi Arabia or the wider GCC region, especially with consultants or supervision firms, will be an advantage. Familiarity with international frameworks such as FIDIC, AACE, and PMI is preferred. Professional credentials like PMP, PSP, or PMI-SP are considered beneficial. Arabic language ability is optional.
