Job description
About Roku
Roku is a leading TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, with a goal of bringing its service to every television worldwide. The company helped pioneer streaming on TV and connects viewers, content publishers, and advertisers through a single ecosystem. Roku describes itself as a fast-growing public company where employees contribute from day one and work across many disciplines while helping serve millions of streamers.
Role Overview
Roku is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst for its Corporate FP&A team. In this position, you will report to the Director of FP&A - Corporate Finance and support senior leadership with historical and forward-looking performance analysis, business trend review, risk and opportunity assessment, and clear communication of financial insights. The role is also central to the earnings process and provides support to the CFO, VP of Investor Relations, and finance leadership.
This position requires an ability to deliver highly accurate work under tight deadlines, juggle competing priorities during earnings and close cycles, and look for ways to improve reporting so it becomes faster, clearer, and more efficient. Roku is seeking someone with the rigor of investment banking, a builder mindset, and strong curiosity. This is a hybrid role requiring four days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will support recurring Corporate FP&A processes and deliver financial analysis for executive and board-level audiences. You will help produce recurring reporting, build dashboards, analyze performance drivers, and support strategic planning work.
- Assist with earnings and investor relations workflows, along with other recurring Corporate FP&A activities such as Board of Directors and Audit Committee materials.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting and analysis for senior management, the Board, and the investment community.
- Build executive dashboards that translate operational and financial data into clear, actionable insights.
- Monitor key performance indicators, explain changes in trends, and investigate unusual movements through deeper analysis.
- Support long-range financial models and strategic analyses that guide executive decisions.
- Develop detailed business case analyses and reporting that improve decision quality.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to make financial and operational reporting more effective and efficient.
- Handle ad hoc analyses and project work as needed.
Required Qualifications
Roku is looking for a candidate with a quantitative academic background, relevant investment banking experience, and strong financial modeling and communication skills. Accuracy, speed, and comfort working with senior stakeholders are essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as finance, economics, mathematics, or accounting.
- At least 2 years of experience in investment banking at a bulge bracket or elite boutique firm, including hands-on modeling-seat work such as DCFs, LBOs, or merger models built from the ground up.
- At least 3 years of total professional experience, including 2 or more years in investment banking.
- Advanced Excel ability, including dynamic arrays, complex INDEX/MATCH structures, scenario toggles, and audit-ready model construction.
- Strong commercial understanding of how revenue assumptions affect margin, operating leverage, and valuation.
- Comfort working with DCF, comparable company, and sensitivity/scenario models.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to support SEC filings and public earnings guidance with complete accuracy.
- Ability to distill complex financial data into clear written and verbal updates for senior executives.
- Self-directed approach, strong ownership, comfort with urgency, and composure under compressed timelines.
Preferred Background
- Experience as a business partner, including budget management and ownership of monthly or quarterly P&L results.
- Exposure to long-range financial planning or models covering a 5 to 10 year horizon.
- Familiarity with planning tools such as Workday Adaptive, Anaplan, or similar platforms.
- Experience using FactSet for consensus summaries and benchmarking.
- Interest in learning and using AI tools to improve productivity.
Who You’ll Work Well As
- Someone who brings investment banking intensity while staying collaborative, low-ego, and willing to lead or support as needed.
- A professional who performs well in high-pressure, high-visibility environments and finds purpose in work that affects public markets.
- A detail-focused operator who treats validation, cross-checking, and audit trails as standard practice.
- A curious learner who welcomes ambiguity, adapts quickly, and can create a path forward without a pre-set plan.
- A dependable teammate who builds trust through consistency and earns broader responsibility over time.
- A person comfortable engaging with multiple senior stakeholders, including the CFO, VP of Investor Relations, and VP of FP&A.
- Someone with leadership potential who can mentor others, help train teammates, and co-lead meetings even without direct reports initially.
Work Arrangement
