Role overview
B&Q is hiring a Shift Lead for its Colchester store on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is available as full time, part time, or job share, with a standard 36.75-hour working week. This is a keyholder position, and shifts may begin as early as 6:00 AM or end as late as 10:00 PM.
As a Shift Lead, you will help create a safe, efficient, and positive environment for both customers and colleagues. You will be central to the day-to-day running of the store, ensuring the team is deployed effectively and that the store experience reflects B&Q’s goal of helping every customer count.
What you will do
- Act as the main driver of smooth store operations during your shift.
- Allocate colleagues appropriately so customer needs are met throughout the day.
- Serve as the first point of contact for both customers and team members.
- Help maintain a safe store environment at all times.
