Job description
Role Overview
This position calls for a seasoned, technically strong Site Manager to oversee the complete delivery of high-voltage substation works in Eastern Saudi Arabia. The role is focused on steering site activities from mobilization through construction, testing, commissioning, and final handover to the client. A strong commitment to engineering quality, schedule control, and HSE compliance is essential.
Site Operations and Project Control
- Direct the on-site execution of HV/EHV substation projects, including 380kV scope.
- Guide the project through every phase by coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve planned milestones.
- Handle EPC contract administration with an eye on risk reduction and efficient use of resources.
- Track site progress and prepare routine daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering achieved milestones, labor hours, and material consumption.
- Organize site logistics and chair daily POD (Plan of the Day) discussions as well as project coordination meetings.
Technical Supervision and Quality Control
- Supervise the installation of major electrical assets such as power transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, circuit breakers, control panels, and auxiliary systems.
- Evaluate and sign off method statements, single-line diagrams, layout drawings, and Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs).
- Apply QA/QC requirements rigorously so that all work matches IFC drawings and project specifications.
- Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning efforts while ensuring as-built and red-line documentation is updated throughout the work.
Safety and Environmental Compliance
- Drive the implementation of site safety rules and take an active role in all HSE-related project activities.
- Carry out regular safety inspections and prepare risk assessments to support an incident-free workplace.
- Review monthly HSE indicators and labor-hour trends to keep performance aligned with company and client expectations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering is required.
- At least 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in the construction and management of high-voltage transmission substations is expected.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale 380kV projects is highly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of substation systems, electrical equipment installation, protection schemes, control systems, and field execution methods is necessary.
- Familiarity with local utility requirements, inspection procedures, and construction regulations is important.
- Proficiency in construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office is needed.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills are required, along with the ability to manage client interactions, negotiate effectively, and resolve site issues.
