Job description
Role overview
This is a senior individual contributor position for a brand designer who will help define and raise the visual standard of a well-known developer-focused company across marketing and digital experiences. The role sits within Marketing and carries ownership of the brand’s look and feel across the website, campaigns, adjacent product surfaces, events, and physical collateral. It requires both strategic brand judgment and strong hands-on execution, with an emphasis on building cohesive systems that scale. The designer will also contribute to shaping AI-assisted creative practices that improve speed and quality while preserving craft.
What you will own
- Lead the evolution of the company’s visual identity so it stays consistent across external, marketing, and product-adjacent touchpoints.
- Own the website design direction, including information structure, layout frameworks, interaction patterns, and responsive implementation.
- Build and maintain the marketing design system in Figma, covering components, reusable patterns, and design tokens used by multiple teams.
- Expand the brand into product and AI-oriented experiences through illustration, motion, and visual storytelling systems.
- Uphold a high level of quality across marketing design work through critiques, feedback, and mentorship for designers and contractors.
- Work with marketing leadership to turn strategy into clear brand direction, campaign creative, and visual positioning.
- Design for physical and experiential formats such as events, trade shows, print, and merchandise while preserving brand consistency.
- Create AI-assisted creative workflows, including asset generation approaches, prompt libraries, and scalable production pipelines.
What the role requires
You should be a senior brand designer with substantial experience building and scaling visual systems across web, product, and marketing environments. The position calls for strong portfolio evidence, confident communication with leadership, and comfort working in technically sophisticated, fast-moving settings.
Experience and capabilities
- At least 8 years of experience in brand, visual, and web design, ideally at staff or principal level in SaaS or developer-focused products.
- A portfolio showing end-to-end brand systems, large-scale web design, illustration, and motion work.
- Experience owning or heavily contributing to design systems in Figma across distributed teams.
- Solid UX/UI fundamentals and practical experience building responsive web experiences for production.
- Ability to turn brand strategy into visual systems and clearly explain design choices to executive stakeholders.
- Experience working with agencies, contractors, or outside creative partners while keeping design direction and quality aligned.
- Working fluency with generative AI tools in real production workflows, including image, video, and automation use cases.
- Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
- Interest in developer tools, technical ecosystems, or AI-driven products is a strong plus.
Compensation and benefits
- Competitive pay aligned to US and Canada market ranges, plus equity participation.
- Remote-first setup with flexibility to work from anywhere in supported regions.
- Generous paid time off, including planned wellness breaks throughout the year.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage, depending on country.
- Parental leave options for all parents.
- Home office support and a monthly technology stipend.
- Learning and development budget for courses, conferences, and professional growth.
- Retirement and savings plans based on location.
- Employee equity and ownership opportunities.
- Wellness, mental health, and lifestyle support benefits.
- Company events, retreats, and creative offsites.
