About the Role
Vestas is seeking a Stock Keeper to support wind energy service operations at its Umsinde site in Northern Cape, South Africa. In this position, you will help keep tools, materials, and spare parts organized and available so field teams can work without interruption. The role is suited to someone with a background in warehousing, logistics, or inventory control, and it contributes directly to reliable clean energy delivery.
Region: MED > SBU MED Service > Warehouse
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming, outgoing, and stored items so that the right parts and tools are available when operations require them.
- Monitor urgent material needs and move critical stock quickly to reduce turbine downtime and keep service work on schedule.
- Maintain precise inventory records by performing stock counts and updating ERP data regularly.
- Work closely with technicians and site leaders to identify upcoming requirements, overcome logistics issues, and strengthen team output.
- Support the broader mission by helping maintain a dependable and responsive supply chain.
Qualifications
- Highly organized, detail-focused, and able to manage time effectively.
- Background in warehouse, stock, or inventory work, with 2 to 3 years of experience in material handling.
- Comfortable using Excel and familiar with ERP/MRP tools such as SAP or Power BI.
- Safety-aware and physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to understand, read, and follow instructions in English.
- Matric certificate and a valid driver's license are required.
Competencies
- Capable of working with limited supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication in English; knowledge of local languages is beneficial.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and SAP ERP.
- Willing and able to travel when needed.
