About the Role

Global Pet Foods PEI is seeking a motivated Store Lead in Training for their Charlottetown location. This leadership development position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in retail or customer service, excellent interpersonal skills, and a desire for career advancement. The role involves comprehensive training to equip you with both leadership capabilities and in-depth product knowledge, as our customers depend on expert advice for pet products. You will receive ongoing training, constructive feedback, and clear milestones throughout your development.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver exceptional, friendly, and informative service to pet owners.
  • Acquire knowledge about a wide range of pet products including food, supplements, treats, toys, and accessories.
  • Assist team members with day-to-day operations and customer inquiries.
  • Contribute to maintaining store presentation, visual merchandising, and promotional execution.
  • Progressively assume responsibilities for leading store shifts.
  • Maintain effective and clear communication with both staff and management.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and customer-centric team atmosphere.

What We’re Looking For

While extensive knowledge of pet nutrition is not required initially, as it will be provided through training, we are seeking candidates who possess the following qualities:

  • Proficiency in communication.

Helpful Experience

  • Previous experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior supervisory or shift lead responsibilities.
  • A strong track record in customer service.
  • Experience in training or mentoring others.
  • A personal passion for or experience with pets is considered an advantage.

Career Development Path

This position includes a structured development program spanning 6 to 9 months, featuring regular progress evaluations. The objective is to cultivate the right candidate into a proficient Store Leader and a potential future Store Manager.

Position Details

This is a full-time role based in Charlottetown, PEI. The schedule requires flexibility, including days, evenings, and weekends as operational needs dictate. Compensation is a competitive hourly wage that will increase with expanded responsibilities.
