About Workato
Workato builds enterprise-grade infrastructure for the agentic era, bringing together data, applications, processes, and AI within one governed platform. As a recognized leader in Enterprise MCP and a trusted provider for half of the Fortune 500, the company’s cloud-native system connects apps, data sources, and workflows so organizations can orchestrate in real time at scale. With security designed for enterprises and a constant focus on innovation, Workato aims to give businesses a reliable base for automation and AI adoption across the organization.
Why Workato
Workato promotes a flexible culture built on trust, where people are encouraged to take real ownership of their work. The company values innovation and seeks collaborators who want to help shape the business. It also emphasizes balance and self-care, offering a lively work setting along with a wide range of benefits for life inside and outside work.
The employer has also been recognized externally in several ways, including being called an “enterprise startup to bet your career on” by Business Insider, appearing in Forbes’ Cloud 100 list of top private cloud companies, ranking 17th in Deloitte Tech Fast 500 for the Bay Area and 96th in North America, and being named the #1 best company for remote workers by Quartz.
Role Overview
The Strategic Community Manager will represent Workato’s AI Lab in Singapore externally. This role is responsible for building and managing relationships across government, academic institutions, and industry partners, and turning those relationships into practical outcomes such as pipeline generation, talent access, co-innovation initiatives, and stronger market presence. The position requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution, and works closely with the AI Lab as well as the wider Singapore team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the operational relationship with EDB, GovTech, and IMDA for the AI Lab, including tracking grant deliverables, coordinating milestone updates, and identifying new programs the lab can join.
- Act as the main contact for related projects, including onboarding and supporting pilot companies throughout the program lifecycle.
- Support rollout of the Agentic Enterprise program across 10 pilot companies by organizing CEO pitch sessions and monitoring sign-ups.
- Prepare briefing notes and follow-up materials for meetings with EDB.
- Track grant compliance needs such as headcount classification and spending thresholds.
- Develop and maintain structured partnerships with academic institutions to create a steady flow of student talent and collaborative work.
- Collaborate with faculty members and program coordinators to integrate Workato AI Lab challenges into coursework and internship opportunities.
- Organize student hackathons focused on MCP and agentic workflows, with outputs that can contribute to customer conversations.
- Work with NUS Enterprise through N-House and NOC, as well as SUTD’s Design AI program, to support a long-term hiring pipeline for the AI Lab.
- Plan and deliver events that position the AI Lab as a thought leader and active community hub in Singapore’s AI ecosystem.
- Handle event logistics end to end while ensuring each activity supports either commercial goals or talent objectives.
- Coordinate conference participation at events such as SuperAI Singapore, ATxEnterprise, and MCP Conference Singapore, including speaker submissions and content preparation.
- Support customer-facing AI workshops and hackathons.
- Serve as the link between the AI Lab and internal teams such as GTM, CSM, marketing, and P&E so that community work contributes to business and product outcomes.
- Share insights from EDB pilot company conversations with the Singapore GTM team.
- Coordinate with the Head of AI Lab on speaker content and external messaging.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in ecosystem development, partnerships, community management, or a similar area, preferably in a tech company, government agency, or startup ecosystem.
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders across both public and private sectors.
- Must be based in Singapore; familiarity with Singapore’s government and university landscape is a strong plus.
- Excellent organizational ability and comfort managing several programs at once while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Strong curiosity about AI and enterprise technology, with enough interest to hold meaningful discussions with technical audiences and policymakers.
