Job Overview
The Informatics Department at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is seeking a Call Receptionist/Switchboard Operator to join their team at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. This role involves providing a comprehensive, high-quality switchboard service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Responsibilities include using a computer system to locate patients during out-of-hours periods and operating an internal paging system to connect staff for both internal and external calls. Fluency in Welsh is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Main Duties
- Operate long-range pagers, relaying numeric and verbal information, and facilitating connections to requested departments. Monitor situations and take appropriate action if no response is received.
- Execute various emergency procedures, including those for cardiac arrest, fire, major incidents, and personal attacks, maintaining detailed records as per standing instructions.
- Manage internal paging receivers, including battery replacement, arranging replacements for faulty units, and instructing users on proper operation.
