Job description

Role overview

This position is for a Technical Field Engineer based in Singapore. The role focuses on keeping systems running reliably, handling onsite incidents, carrying out maintenance work, and coordinating with customers, suppliers, and internal technical teams to restore service and support day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide continuous monitoring and upkeep of hardware and software systems so that uptime meets service-level commitments.
  • Act as the first onsite contact for incidents and service requests, including troubleshooting, minor repairs, and replacement of parts when needed.
  • Log, maintain, and follow through on tickets in the ticketing system until closure, while meeting SLA targets.
  • Escalate issues in line with the defined escalation process whenever required.
  • Carry out planned preventive work and corrective maintenance on system hardware and other computer-based equipment.
  • Partner with third-party vendors and contractors to identify and resolve issues related to hardware, software, or network disruptions.
  • Work closely with customers to manage service issues and address technical problems.
  • Coordinate with the technical team to resolve more complex faults when necessary.
  • Complete IMAC activities such as install, move, add, and change tasks as assigned.
  • Make sure all materials and handover details are properly recorded during shift transitions.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Develop strong customer relationships and support users proactively.

Requirements

  • Higher NITEC in Electrical, Electronics, IT, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting IT systems and maintaining hardware.
  • Knowledge of electrical or mechanical drawings, service manuals, repair manuals, or technical diagrams will be an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of networking and database management will be helpful.
  • Experience in airport operations will be considered a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A self-driven, motivated, and analytical mindset with the confidence to handle challenges.
  • Capability to work independently, responsibly, and as part of a team.
  • Comfort interacting with people at all levels and performing under pressure.
  • Training will be provided.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required for the role.
  • A technical certification or associate degree may be required.
  • Typically 2 to 4 years of relevant experience is expected.

Work arrangement

The reporting location is Woodlands RTS, and training will take place in Woodlands and Tuas. Travel to other sites during shifts may also be required. Working hours are based on rotating 12-hour shifts, or as assigned. The shift cycle follows 3 working days and 2 rest days, then 2 working days and 3 rest days. The schedule also alternates between 2 months of day shifts and 2 months of night shifts.
