Role overview
Bahra Electric is hiring an Electrical or Mechanical Technician to assist with engineering, upkeep, and project-related work in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The position focuses on equipment setup, fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, technical records, and creating or revising technical drawings in AutoCAD. The ideal candidate should combine solid technical knowledge with practical troubleshooting skills and a strong commitment to safety and quality requirements.
Key duties
- Create, revise, and manage technical drawings, machine arrangements, equipment changes, and utility layouts using AutoCAD.
- Support engineering teams in designing production line arrangements and carrying out plant enhancement projects.
- Keep detailed and accurate documentation for equipment details, drawings, and maintenance-related records.
- Help prepare technical reports, operating instructions, and maintenance procedures.
- Work with Production and Quality teams to help keep manufacturing operations running smoothly.
- Provide hands-on support during machine setup, product changeovers, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Contribute to improvement efforts that raise productivity and reduce waste.
- Follow all safety rules, including lockout/tagout requirements, and comply with company quality and environmental standards.
- Report unsafe situations and take part in safety improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and experience
A diploma or associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a similar technical field is required. AutoCAD certification is preferred, though strong practical AutoCAD ability is also acceptable. The role calls for 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, ideally in cable manufacturing, wire and cable production, plastics extrusion, or another continuous-process manufacturing setting. Candidates should have experience maintaining and troubleshooting production machinery, along with practical use of AutoCAD for engineering drawings.
Technical background
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD; 3D skills are an added advantage.
- Understanding of cable manufacturing processes and related machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and engineering specifications.
- Exposure to PLC-based equipment and industrial automation systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance methods and root-cause analysis.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.
