Role Overview
This position is for a Telecom Quality Control Inspector working on oil and gas EPC projects in Saudi Arabia, offshore. The role focuses on making sure telecom installation, testing, and commissioning work follows Saudi Aramco requirements, SAES, SATIP, project specifications, and approved IFC drawings while meeting strict quality and safety expectations.
Core Duties
- Check and oversee telecom installation works across fiber optic networks, structured cabling, CCTV, access control, public address systems, telephone and data networks, radio systems, microwave systems, and TETRA systems.
- Confirm adherence to Saudi Aramco engineering standards, including SAES, SAEP, and SATIP.
- Review and sign off on ITPs, method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings.
- Carry out field inspections for cable laying, termination, splicing, grounding, and equipment installation.
- Observe and validate testing and commissioning activities such as OTDR and power meter testing, fiber splicing and loss testing, and system integration and functional testing.
- Work with construction, engineering, and commissioning teams to close NCRs and resolve site-related issues.
- Raise, track, and close NCRs and site observation reports.
- Make sure as-built drawings, test records, and handover documentation are complete and accurate.
- Join Aramco inspections, walkdowns, and audits when required.
- Maintain continuous compliance with HSE rules and Aramco safety requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
The role requires a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering. Saudi Aramco approval and CBT pass as a QC Telecom/Communication Inspector are mandatory or preferred, depending on project needs. Candidates should have at least 7 to 8 years of telecom QC experience on oil and gas EPC projects, along with strong practical exposure to Saudi Aramco telecom systems and work with EPC contractors on Aramco projects.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong command of Saudi Aramco telecom standards and specifications.
- Ability to understand and interpret IFC drawings and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of SAES-T, SAEP, and SATIP.
- Familiarity with ITPs, MIR, WIR, FAT, and SAT procedures.
- Experience preparing and reviewing as-built documents and turnover packages.
