Role Overview
AMAX is hiring an Assembler in Shannon, County Clare, Ireland for a hands-on production role focused on building, checking, documenting, and packaging hardware systems and subassemblies. The position requires careful adherence to assembly documentation, quality standards, and workplace safety practices.
Key Duties
- Review assembly packs, manufacturing process instructions, drawings, product specifications, and bills of materials before starting work.
- Collect the correct components, subassemblies, tools, and materials needed for each build.
- Remove chassis and parts from packaging and get them ready for production.
- Build systems and subassemblies, making sure parts fit correctly and are fastened in line with work instructions.
- Record component serial numbers in the manufacturing execution system for traceability.
- Accurately finish production and quality records within required timelines.
- Prepare accessories, apply labels, and carry out visual checks on completed units before packing.
- Pack completed products according to the bill of materials and shipping instructions.
- Work in an electrostatic discharge-safe environment and comply with all safety requirements.
- Help meet production targets by following supervisor guidance and working overtime when needed.
- Support floor audits, cycle counts, and inventory-related tasks.
- Maintain a tidy, safe, and organized workspace by following 5S practices.
- Assist with other production and manufacturing activities as required.
- Contribute to team goals and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Completion of high school or an equivalent qualification is required; technical certification or some college study is considered an advantage.
- Prior assembly experience in electronics, computer hardware, or manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to understand assembly instructions, production orders, and control documents.
- Comfort using hand tools and light power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on quality and procedure compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet production deadlines.
- Good spoken and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to client sites for maintenance, troubleshooting, and deployment support.
