Role overview
Reliance Retail is looking for a driven and seasoned Retail Store Operations Manager to take charge of daily store functioning, elevate the customer experience, improve profitability, and enforce strong operating practices across the team. This position calls for proven leadership, hands-on retail operations experience, and strong people-management capability.
Core responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the store and make sure processes are followed smoothly and consistently.
- Track key performance measures such as sales, shrinkage, footfall conversion, ATV (Average Transaction Value), and UPT (Units Per Transaction).
- Maintain proper inventory control, ensure timely replenishment, and oversee visual merchandising in line with brand standards.
- Guide, train, and encourage store employees so they meet performance targets and deliver strong customer service.
- Strengthen accountability through regular coaching, reviews, and feedback conversations.
- Build a work culture focused on high performance, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
- Keep customer satisfaction high by improving service processes and coaching the team appropriately.
- Manage escalated customer complaints and work toward quick, effective closure.
- Support CRM activities and execute loyalty program initiatives effectively.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety norms, and all applicable statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular store audits to maintain standards in cleanliness, merchandising, and operational readiness.
- Review sales patterns, stock health, and customer insights to identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance updates and share them with management.
Experience and qualifications
The role requires at least 58 years of experience in retail store operations, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position. A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a similar discipline is expected. An MBA will be considered an added advantage.
