Role Overview
A global trading company is seeking a Business Development Manager to accelerate expansion in IT and cloud services across Southeast Asia. The position is centered on uncovering new commercial opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and supporting growth initiatives, with a strong focus on turning ideas into executable business outcomes.
The role sits at the intersection of internal teams and external stakeholders, helping move business concepts from early opportunity assessment through to implementation.
What You’ll Do
- Lead growth efforts for key initiatives by identifying prospective customers, partners, and collaboration opportunities, especially in Singapore and Malaysia.
- Develop a strong understanding of the service offering, target segments, and market positioning.
- Translate market intelligence into practical business opportunities.
- Contribute to business development activities in IT and cloud across Southeast Asia, Australia, and India.
- Carry out market research to uncover potential opportunities and business trends.
- Support customer engagement, partner identification, and proposal preparation.
- Assist in assessing and moving forward new business concepts.
- Serve as a coordination point between internal stakeholders, group entities, and external partners.
- Promote clear communication, alignment, and timely execution across all stakeholders involved.
- Help organize and advance commercial opportunities in a structured and efficient manner.
- Support strategic planning through market analysis, competitor research, and business planning inputs.
- Identify promising growth areas and partnership possibilities.
- Prepare presentations and insights to support management decisions.
What We’re Looking For
- 7 to 10 years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, strategy, or a closely related field.
- Experience in IT, cloud services, or B2B technology environments such as system integration, digital transformation, cybersecurity, or data/AI.
- Practical familiarity with cloud platforms, with AWS preferred; knowledge of Azure, GCP, or hybrid cloud is an advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, along with solid stakeholder management skills.
- Japanese language ability is a plus, though it is not required.
