Role overview
Join Beca’s Waikato business in a senior project and programme management position where you will help expand the team, strengthen client partnerships, and lead delivery across a wide range of construction projects. The role is centered on supporting Beca’s purpose of making everyday better by contributing to outcomes across transportation, water, health, education, and other commercial sectors.
What you will do
You will take a local leadership role in project management and delivery, working closely with clients across the Waikato region to shape, plan, and deliver services for important projects. The position sits within a collaborative Hamilton office and involves working with a close senior team across multiple disciplines.
The work covers the full construction project lifecycle, from early concept and briefing through design management, procurement, construction, and handover. You will also contribute to local and national projects, including large programmes and asset and capital works for national clients in the region.
What success looks like
The ideal person will be highly client-focused, able to build trusted relationships, communicate clearly, and understand the needs of different sectors and stakeholders. You will need to connect effectively with the Hamilton team and the wider Beca network across New Zealand, advocate for local client needs, and help align teams around practical delivery plans.
This is a varied role that requires experience across different project types, client groups, and disciplines. You should also enjoy mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and contributing to a positive team environment.
Experience and background
Experience delivering projects for the local government sector, especially water and related work, is required. Background in business development, client relationship management, bidding, proposal development, and winning new work will also be valuable. The role expects experience in design management, project planning and delivery, strategic advice, and commercial decision-making.
Team and workplace
Based in Hamilton, you will work in a flexible, multidisciplinary environment with a strong team culture. The regional office has around 150 staff, and you will also be connected to a wider group of more than 200 project and programme management professionals across New Zealand. Collaboration, openness, and teamwork are central to the way the office operates.
