About Ammortal
The Ammortal Chamber integrates multiple scientifically validated wellness technologies into a unified experience suitable for wellness clinics and personal use, including specialty spas, sports teams, and biohackers. As a small but growing startup team of engineers, health experts, and entrepreneurs, Ammortal has successfully launched its initial product and is expanding rapidly.
Role Purpose
This role centers on full-stack development to support and enhance the Chamber technology product line. The Software Engineer will build and maintain end-to-end software, ranging from frontend interfaces to backend services and embedded systems. Technologies include Go, Python, microservices, and MQTT protocols. This position plays a critical part in advancing Ammortal's product offerings and ensuring operational stability for clients like clinics and athletes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create new features and maintain existing software across the full technology stack.
- Take part in architectural planning for the microservices platform.
- Support legacy Chamber software with updates and fixes.
- Engage in quality assurance to guarantee dependable performance.
- Provide technical assistance to resolve customer issues.
- Work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams including hardware, operations, and customer experience.
Technical Skills and Attributes
- Strong attention to detail with an organized, methodical development and testing approach.
- Eagerness to learn new languages, technologies, and system architectures continually.
- Ability to adapt and switch contexts seamlessly across diverse technical environments.
- Proficient in multiple programming languages and paradigms.
- Comprehensive understanding of full-stack components from UI to backend and system-level code.

Mandatory Qualifications
- Experience programming in at least one high-level language such as JavaScript or Python.
- Proficiency with a lower-level language like Go, C, or C++.
- Comfortable working within Linux environments and using the command line.
- Experience with version control systems, specifically Git.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana, Jira, or Linear.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycles and testing methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with frontend development using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
- Backend development expertise in Go.
- Understanding of microservice design patterns.
- Experience with Docker and container deployment.
- Knowledge of Debian-based Linux operating systems.
- Experience with MQTT or similar IoT communication technologies.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery pipelines, e.g., GitHub Actions workflows.
- Shell scripting skills, particularly Bash.
- Exposure to IoT devices and hardware/software integration.
- Understanding of AI collaboration tools and agents.

Benefits and Terms
The salary range for this role is $115,000 to $150,000 annually. Benefits include 80% coverage for health, dental, and vision insurance. This position is hybrid, with the office located in Mars Hill, NC. Employees are expected to be onsite between 40% and 80% of the time depending on project requirements.
