Role overview
Help AG, part of e& enterprise, is hiring an Emirati national to join its Security Operations Centre (SOC) as a Security Analyst. The right candidate should have a strong interest in network security and hands-on exposure to monitoring security events through a SIEM platform to identify and investigate IT security incidents.
What you will do
- Work through established procedures to assess security alerts, escalate critical issues, and support incident remediation.
- Use SIEM platforms such as Splunk, LogRhythm, and QRadar to correlate activity and spot security events.
- Examine log files and carry out forensic-style analysis of system access activity.
- Check customer reports for accuracy and quality before delivery.
- Track activity across security tools and sources including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, switches, VPNs, and other threat feeds.
- Handle incoming support requests by phone and digital channels for managed security services.
- Respond within the defined SLA for support cases, threat cases, and related requests.
- Record all actions in case notes so internal teams and customers have a clear history.
- Independently troubleshoot issues while following the correct escalation path when needed.
- Stay current on the evolving threat landscape and emerging attack patterns.
- Share knowledge with fellow analysts and contribute technical content to internal knowledge resources.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the team.
- Work rotating shifts in a 24/7 operational setup.
Experience and qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of experience in information security, including areas such as security operations, intrusion detection, incident analysis, incident handling, log analysis, or firewall administration.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in network operations, network engineering, or system administration on Unix, Linux, or Windows.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Practical understanding of internet security, incident detection, and network/system protection.
- Solid grasp of IT security best practices, common attack methods, and prevention/detection approaches.
- Proven ability to analyse and interpret system, security, and application logs.
- Understanding of the event types generated by firewalls, IDS/IPS tools, and related security devices.
- Experience working with SIEM solutions such as Splunk, LogRhythm, QRadar, AlienVault, NitroSecurity, and similar platforms.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP, networking, and security products.
- Familiarity with the Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks.
- Awareness of attack patterns such as scans, man-in-the-middle activity, sniffing, DoS, DDoS, worms, Trojans, and viruses.
- Preferred certifications include CCNA, CISSP, GCA, GCIA, GCIH, and CEH.
- Strong organisational ability and an exclusive focus on IT work with broad experience in the field.
- Highly analytical, resilient under pressure, and able to solve problems effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Must be able to speak and write in both English and Arabic.
