Job Overview
The Document Control Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring efficient management of documents throughout construction projects, supporting the project team while maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards. This leadership role involves overseeing all documentation processes, implementing controls, and guiding a team of document controllers.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, implement, and maintain systems to control project documentation such as drawings, contracts, plans, and reports.
- Ensure all document management practices meet regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Lead and mentor a team of document controllers to achieve accurate and timely document handling.
- Maintain high standards of document quality, ensuring proper organization and storage.
- Coordinate document distribution to internal project teams and external partners or stakeholders.
- Support audit processes by preparing and providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Produce regular updates reflecting the status of document control activities.
- Train team and project members on document management protocols and systems.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance document control procedures and technologies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience managing document control within the construction sector.
- Technical proficiency with document management and construction management software.
- Strong organizational capabilities with the ability to multitask and manage details meticulously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated leadership and team supervision experience.
