AI Software Engineer - Full Stack Developer (Java)

About the Role

We seek a Full Stack AI Software Engineer specialized in Java to join our team onsite in Doha, Qatar. This position focuses on advancing AI-powered delivery by creating innovative solutions, championing Spec-Driven Development (SDD), and embedding agentic AI technologies in collaboration with architectural and engineering leadership. Your contributions will enhance software engineering efficiency, reinforce reliability, and guarantee responsible AI practices in large-scale enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and contribute to AI architecture by integrating retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agent-based automation, and related technologies into microservices and enterprise-level systems.
• Develop and incorporate Spec-Driven Development templates and governance into project delivery processes.
• Create and sustain agentic AI applications while implementing measures to ensure responsible AI deployment.
• Deliver robust AI integrations including large language models (LLMs), retrieval systems, and data embeddings within Java and Spring Boot services.
• Manage observability, version control, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines for prompts, AI models, and specifications.
• Deploy and maintain solutions on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Web Apps, applying best practices to achieve stability and security.
• Support tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to AI-enabled delivery focusing on adoption rate, quality assurance, and risk mitigation.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing by developing playbooks, conducting training sessions, and mentoring engineering teams worldwide.
• Implement security protocols, data governance, and responsible AI constraints across production systems.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with Core Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, and building microservices architectures.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native designs, databases (Oracle/PLSQL preferred), Kafka messaging, and Git-centric development workflows.
• At least 1 to 2 years experience developing LLM-based products, retrieval-augmented generation architectures, or agentic AI systems in production or pilot environments.
• Familiarity with Spec-Driven Development methodologies and the governance required to implement them effectively.
• Experience working with Azure services including AKS and Web Apps along with continuous integration and deployment pipelines, preferably GitLab.
• Knowledge of various LLM providers, prompt engineering, and testing/evaluation strategies.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multi-national teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating React for front-end UI development.
• Hands-on practice applying Spec-Driven Development in business-scale projects.
• Expertise implementing observability within AI delivery pipelines and securely managing rollouts.
