Role Overview

This position is for a Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing and delivering robust, scalable microservices and data-centric solutions using Java, SQL, and JavaScript within complex enterprise applications. The role emphasizes performance enhancement, reliability, scalability, and mentoring peers while collaborating with cross-functional teams under day shift schedules in a hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect scalable microservices ensuring high availability and reliability to handle vital business transactions across diverse domains.
• Develop maintainable and modular Java backend services following clean code principles and best practices.
• Design and optimize efficient SQL queries and database schemas to support high-volume transactional workloads with data integrity.
• Create user-facing functionalities with JavaScript that integrate fluidly with backend services to provide consistent, responsive user experiences across browsers.
• Work closely with product managers, architects, and quality engineers to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Analyze and optimize existing services and database interactions to alleviate bottlenecks, reducing latency and boosting throughput.
• Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests to enhance code coverage and minimize regression issues during release cycles.
• Document service interfaces, data models, and architectural decisions thoroughly to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Participate actively in agile rituals such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives providing technical expertise to improve delivery outcomes.
• Monitor application health through logs and metrics, proactively addressing incidents to ensure uptime and user satisfaction.
• Enforce secure coding standards across Java, SQL, and JavaScript codebases implementing input validation, access controls, and secure data handling.
• Mentor junior team members via code reviews and pair programming to enhance competencies in microservices, databases, and frontend integration.
• Collaborate with operations and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth deployment and consistent configurations across hybrid environments supporting day shifts.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field with professional experience delivering production-grade software.
• Proven expertise in Java backend development, particularly within service-oriented architectures.
• Advanced skills designing and implementing RESTful microservices with well-defined APIs and separation of concerns.
• Strong SQL proficiency including schema design, indexing, and query optimization for relational databases.
• Experience using JavaScript to build interactive interfaces or service integrations adhering to modern coding standards.
• Practical knowledge of agile methodologies including iterative development, CI/CD, and collaborative backlog grooming.
• Familiarity with version control systems, build tools, and testing frameworks common in Java and JavaScript tech stacks.
• Experience working in hybrid work setups, effectively collaborating with distributed teams using remote-friendly communication tools.
• Java Spring Boot and microservices development expertise.
• Certified Java Developer with Spring Professional Certification.
