Civil Estimation Engineer

Role Overview

A diversified main contracting company is looking for an experienced Civil Estimation Engineer to support its tendering and estimation function in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

What You Will Do

• Review tender packs, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to grasp the project requirements and help decide whether to pursue each opportunity.
• Carry out quantity take-offs, build BOQs and cost estimates, and raise clarification requests when drawings or documents contain gaps, inconsistencies, or unclear points.
• Prepare RFQs, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, assess quotations, create comparison sheets, and assist with negotiation activities.
• Work closely with procurement, construction, and technical teams to account for materials, labour, logistics, authority-related needs, and execution inputs.
• Look for value engineering options and contribute to Design & Build submissions whenever relevant.
• Develop estimate files in CCS Candy, including BOQ revisions, bid profiling, and pricing analysis.
• Compile and complete technical and commercial tender submissions, covering addenda, clarifications, and any post-tender follow-up requirements.

Skills and Competencies

• Excellent communication and negotiation ability.
• Strong analytical mindset with careful attention to quantities, pricing, and tender paperwork.
• Capability to manage several tenders and overlapping deadlines at the same time.
• Solid English writing and presentation skills.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering is required.
• At least 10 years of experience in UAE main contracting, specifically in civil estimation and tendering.
