About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a full-time Lifeguard in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is a non-management, on-site role within the Golf, Fitness, & Entertainment category. The position is focused on maintaining a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable pool and recreation environment for guests.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor the swimming area closely and respond quickly when a swimmer needs help.
• Use the correct rescue approach when a guest is in distress.
• Watch for unsafe behavior, hazardous conditions, or swimmers who appear to be struggling.
• Enforce the recreation facility’s rules and safety guidelines.
• Alert a supervisor or manager if a guest may not be fit to safely take part in an activity.
• Support injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Help create a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere for visitors.
• Collect, fold, and arrange towels following company procedures.
• Clean the pool deck by washing and mopping it as needed.

Work Standards and Expectations

You will be expected to report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions, and to complete all required safety training and certifications. The role also requires strict adherence to company policies, confidentiality standards, and asset protection practices. Guest service is a major part of the job, including greeting guests warmly, maintaining a neat and professional appearance, anticipating service needs, and assisting guests with disabilities. Clear, professional communication, respectful teamwork, and compliance with quality standards are essential. You may also be asked to inspect equipment for defects, move quickly in response to work situations, and perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting moderate to heavy items with or without assistance, and moving across uneven or slippery surfaces. Additional reasonable duties may be assigned as needed.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred. No prior related work experience is required, and there is no supervisory experience requirement.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid CPR certification
• First Aid certification
• Fitness equipment certification, if required
• Any training or certification required by local or state authorities
