Software Engineer (Python) - Relocation to Poland, Spain, or UAE

Role overview

This position is for a Backend Engineer with relocation support to Poland, Spain, or the UAE. Revolut helps with the relocation process end to end. After moving, the role can be performed fully remotely or in a hybrid arrangement from Krakow, Barcelona, Madrid, or Dubai.

The engineering organization focuses on building the systems and user experiences that power Revolut’s global product. The team values simple, maintainable code and fast delivery using practices such as test-driven development, domain-driven design, and continuous integration and delivery.

The current technology stack includes Python 3.11, Celery, FastAPI, Django, PostgreSQL, Redis, Airflow, and Google Cloud Platform.

What you will do

• Design, build, and scale APIs, background jobs, and data pipelines to match business requirements.
• Create event consumers that support new workflows and help form data models for new products and processes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience working as a software engineer.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience using Python as the main language.
• A STEM academic background.
• Strong command of Python, SQL, and other object-oriented programming languages.
• Practical experience with API design and system integration.
• Good understanding of distributed systems.
• Ability to write concurrent code for both I/O-bound and CPU-bound workloads.
• Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, TeamCity, monitoring, and alerting tools.
• Bonus value for candidates who have experience with prototyping and sketching.
• Additional advantage if you have side projects or open-source contributions.
• Exposure to Google Cloud Platform is considered a plus.
