Data Analytics Analyst

Job Summary

This role partners closely with account management and contracting teams to spot and explain payment variances, especially those tied to overpayment or underpayment activity, and to factor those findings into actual-versus-expected outcomes. It also supports the creation of timely, objective, and innovative analysis that helps guide fact-based decisions on key business issues. In addition, the position delivers customer service to both internal and external stakeholders while maintaining service quality and tracking customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do

• Help design and use effective data visualization approaches so information is presented clearly for audiences at different levels.
• Support the creation and rollout of analytical and statistical methods, along with tools that evaluate business processes, operational issues, and the return on investment of products and services.
• Work with account and contracting teams to detect and explain payment discrepancies and incorporate them into actual-to-expected reporting.
• Assist with building and maintaining automated checks that flag data or process integrity problems, then share detailed recommendations for fixing them and communicate downstream and upstream impacts to affected stakeholders.
• Contribute to objective, timely analysis that supports practical solutions for strategic business challenges, including defining problems, forming hypotheses, and combining external syndicated data with internal knowledge.
• Create recurring and ad hoc management reports and presentations, and use query-based tools for data mining and analytics to support daily work and special projects.
• Carry out compliance-monitoring activities such as reviewing definitions, maintaining price increases, and identifying networks.
• Provide responsive service to internal and external customers while upholding service standards and monitoring satisfaction.
• Collaborate across functions with colleagues in Sales, Finance, Legal, Contract Development, and Contract Operations.

Basic Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree, or a high school diploma/GED plus at least 3 years of relevant experience in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, Business, Actuarial Science, or Computer Science.
• Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to help shape strategies and project plans that meet department goals, budget limits, and timelines.
• Experience building and sustaining relationships across a matrixed organization, including peers, business partners, leadership, clients, vendors, and other external contacts, while maintaining service quality standards.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and decide when issues should be escalated.
• Strong time-management ability to organize priorities, track details, and manage deadlines across multiple projects.
• Experience troubleshooting complex problems, identifying root causes, and recommending and implementing solutions.
• Background in analyzing and reporting data to identify trends, exceptions, and opportunities to improve outcomes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions, formatting, and pivot tables.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, including slide styling, animation, and timing settings.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including macros, table formatting, comments, and mail merge.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for business within and outside the state.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• Familiarity with advanced coding languages such as SAS, SQL, or C++.
• Experience with system administration tools such as PROS, Vendavo, Vistaar, Salesforce.com, SharePoint, or Wikis.
• Experience using business intelligence tools such as Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, or PROS.
• Experience in coaching, mentoring, and training team members.
• Knowledge of pharmacy, pharmaceutical benefit management, benefit consultancy, or managed care environments.
• Experience working with pharmacy data in a retail pharmacy, PBM, benefit consultancy, or managed care setting.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical industry pricing.
• Project management experience, including planning, organizing, and coordinating resources to achieve project goals.
• Knowledge of systems such as Remedy and GIS.
• Experience with data extraction, mining, acquisition, profiling, and data warehouse management.
• Experience in a data warehouse, business intelligence, decision support, or IT environment.
• Understanding of statistical concepts and data mining methods.

The final hourly rate offered will depend on geography, skills, abilities, education, experience, and other relevant factors. This position stays open until it is filled. Compensation

The posted salary range is $63,100 to $101,200 per year.
