Meter Data Analyst

Overview

Handshake is seeking experienced professionals from the energy sector to contribute to AI research through flexible contract-based work measured by the hour. This is not a conventional full-time role; instead, it is a project-driven opportunity where your real-world knowledge of utility metering, customer operations, and energy billing systems will be used to assess AI-generated content and improve how AI understands utility processes and customer data practices.

The assignment is ongoing and can be taken on alongside other commitments.

Project details

• You will apply practical experience and familiarity with everyday work tools to help build high-quality training data and review AI responses for accuracy and relevance. No previous AI background is needed.
• This opportunity is entirely remote and follows a flexible, asynchronous schedule. There is no fixed minimum weekly commitment, though contributors usually spend about 5 to 20 hours per week when an active project is available.
• Selection depends on current project demand, and qualified candidates may also be considered for future projects as they open up.

Qualifications

• You should have at least 2 years of professional experience in utility metering, customer operations, or a similar energy-related function.
• Relevant backgrounds include Meter Data Analyst, Customer Operations Analyst, Billing Analyst, Energy Accountant, or comparable positions in the energy industry.
• Practical experience with one or more of these tools is required: Oracle MDM, Oracle CC&B, SAP, or Power BI.
• Strong written communication, close attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in an asynchronous setting are important for this work.

This is an hourly contract opportunity focused on flexible participation in active projects. It is not a traditional employment arrangement and does not require prior AI experience.
