Job Overview
YO IT Consulting is seeking a skilled Python Developer to contribute remotely on a contract basis. This position entails applying your advanced backend expertise to aid in training the upcoming generation of AI systems. While deep AI experience isn't mandatory, your domain knowledge is crucial in shaping model learning and reasoning through authentic, high-quality data inputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and optimize scalable REST and GraphQL API endpoints.
- Implement rigorous data validation, error handling, and best security practices in backend services.
- Manage database migrations, optimize performance, and adjust schemas as needed.
- Conduct thorough testing of novel AI-driven models within the Cursor environment, providing detailed feedback including incident reports, bug tracking, and screen captures.
- Engage in concentrated 4-day testing sessions to assess AI model impacts on coding workflows.
- Collaborate closely with the research team via Slack to discuss observations and recommend enhancements.
- Complete comprehensive post-testing surveys sharing insights on model effectiveness and developer experience.
Mandatory Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years professional backend development experience using Python.
- Strong proficiency in building and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Deep knowledge of backend data validation, error management, and API security protocols.
- Hands-on experience with database migrations, performance tuning, and schema design.
- Regular user of AI-assisted coding tools; familiarity with Cursor is a strong plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to produce clear incident and bug reports.
- Capable of excelling in fast-paced, confidential, and cooperative remote working environments.

- Contributions to open source projects (e.g., GitHub contributions or notable stars).
- Experience in designing or evaluating experimental tools and developer workflow enhancements.
