Role Overview
As the Account Manager, you will lead customer renewals and expansion efforts. Your focus will be on keeping clients engaged, identifying opportunities for upsell and cross-sell, and helping them get more value from the platform. Success in this role is tied to retention, renewal performance, and achievement of expansion targets through broader adoption of the Conversation Intelligence Platform.
This position is well-suited to someone who enjoys strategic account planning, referral-based selling, and consistently delivering above target in a quota-carrying role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage renewals and growth opportunities with the goal of meeting or exceeding assigned quotas.
- Partner with the Customer Success Manager to create strategic plans that protect retention and support expansion.
- Lead renewal conversations early, address risks ahead of time, and keep clients confident throughout the process.
- Build new pipeline through regular outbound activity and identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Expand Mongoose’s presence within existing accounts by introducing solutions to additional teams and departments.
- Develop strong client relationships through outreach and Quarterly Reviews that reinforce value and uncover needs.
- Work closely with a dedicated Client Success Manager, where you own the commercial side and the CSM owns adoption and day-to-day success.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Leadership, and Product to share updates, surface risks, and bring customer insight into decision-making.
- Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and industry events, including travel and onsite visits when required.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, monitor account health, and use data to guide conversations and identify opportunities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has a strong background in B2B SaaS sales with direct experience managing renewals and/or expansion quota. A history of exceeding targets, building healthy pipelines, and closing upsell or cross-sell opportunities is important.
You should be a confident relationship builder with excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a strong ability to use data to inform your approach. Comfort working in CRM systems is expected, and HubSpot experience is a plus.
Experience in higher education is helpful but not mandatory. The company is open to candidates who can learn the space quickly and contribute effectively.

Compensation
The base salary for this role is $80,000, with a $70,000 variable component and total on-target earnings of $150,000.
