Role Overview
As an Account Manager, you will own renewals and lead account expansion efforts by identifying growth opportunities, deepening client relationships, and helping customers get more value from Mongoose’s solutions. Your success will be measured by client retention, renewal performance, and achievement of expansion targets through broader adoption of the Conversation Intelligence Platform. The role is well suited to someone who enjoys building pipeline, planning strategically, and selling through strong relationships and referrals.
What You’ll Do
- Meet or exceed renewal and expansion goals, and work with the Customer Success Manager to create thoughtful retention and growth plans.
- Lead the renewal process proactively, addressing risks early so clients remain confident and supported throughout the contract cycle.
- Generate new expansion pipeline through regular outbound activity, then pursue upsell and cross-sell opportunities that solve additional client needs.
- Grow Mongoose’s presence within existing accounts by introducing the platform to other departments and teams across the institution.
- Develop trusted client partnerships through strategic outreach and Quarterly Reviews that keep customers engaged and prepared to grow.
- Work closely with a dedicated Client Success Manager, with shared accountability for outcomes: commercial growth on your side and adoption and value realization on theirs.
- Partner with Marketing to communicate product updates, new offerings, and customer success stories.
- Collaborate with Leadership on risk management and creative ways to advance opportunities or resolve challenges.
- Share customer feedback and market insights with Product to help improve the solution.
- Represent Mongoose at conferences, trade shows, and industry events, including onsite visits and travel when required.
- Use customer health data to guide conversations, identify opportunities, and maintain a clean, accurate CRM record in HubSpot.
- Communicate renewal, upsell, and client activity updates internally to keep teams aligned and informed.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven success managing a renewal and/or expansion quota in a B2B SaaS environment, with a history of exceeding target.
- Experience building a strong pipeline, closing opportunities at a solid win rate, and growing existing accounts through upsells and cross-sells.
- A consultative sales style that feels helpful and natural rather than overly aggressive.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to earn trust with clients.
- Clear, effective communication that makes complex ideas easy to understand and act on.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate issues and create solutions early.
- Strategic thinking and a continuous-improvement approach to processes and outcomes.
- Comfort using data to identify opportunities, solve problems, and support client decisions.
- Experience with CRM tools; HubSpot knowledge is a plus.
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working closely with Marketing, Product, and Client Success.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Background in higher education is helpful, but not required.

Compensation
The base salary for this position is $80,000, with a $70,000 variable component. On-target earnings are $150,000.
