Role Summary

As an Account Manager, you will own renewals and expansion for a portfolio of clients. Your focus will be on retaining accounts, growing revenue through upsells and cross-sells, and building strong client relationships that lead to long-term partnership. Success in this role is tied to retention, renewal performance, and expansion quota achievement across Mongoose’s Conversation Intelligence Platform.

This is a commercial, client-facing role suited to someone who enjoys strategic account planning, referential selling, and consistently surpassing targets. The position is fully remote and includes an evergreen hiring approach, meaning there may not be an immediate opening, but Mongoose is actively building a candidate pipeline for future needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage renewal and expansion activity for assigned accounts, with a goal of meeting or exceeding quota and supporting revenue growth.
  • Partner with a Customer Success Manager to create retention and expansion plans that anticipate risk early and keep customers engaged.
  • Drive new opportunities within existing accounts through targeted outbound outreach, upselling, and cross-selling.
  • Strengthen client relationships through strategic communication and Quarterly Reviews that surface needs, goals, and growth opportunities.
  • Work alongside Client Success to balance commercial ownership with adoption and value realization.
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Leadership, and Product to share customer feedback, support campaigns, address risks, and influence product improvements.
  • Represent Mongoose at conferences, trade shows, industry events, and on-site customer visits as needed.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records in HubSpot and use customer health data to guide account strategy and internal updates.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven success in a B2B SaaS environment carrying renewal and/or expansion responsibility and regularly exceeding targets.
  • Ability to build pipeline, close efficiently, and grow accounts through upsells and cross-sells.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clear, confident communication and a customer-first mindset.
  • Proactive problem-solving ability and a strategic approach to account management.
  • Comfort working with data, customer health indicators, and CRM platforms; HubSpot experience is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across Marketing, Product, and Client Success teams.
  • Experience in higher education is helpful but not mandatory.

Compensation

The base salary for this position is $80,000, with a $70,000 variable component. Total on-target earnings (OTE) are $150,000.
